Start by ensuring your nails are clean, dry, and free from any old nail polish. File and shape your nails to your desired length and shape.
Step 2:
Select two or more nail polish colors that will blend well together for your ombre effect.
Step 3:
Apply a solid coat of your lightest color as the base for your ombre nails. Allow it to dry completely.
Step 4:
Take a small makeup sponge and cut it into a size that fits comfortably on your nail. The sponge will help you achieve the gradient effect.
Step 5:
Apply a stripe of each chosen nail polish color onto the sponge, slightly overlapping them to allow for blending.
Step 6:
Dab the sponge a few times to transfer the polish and blend the colors. You may need to repeat this step a couple of times to achieve
Step 7:
Use a q-tip or small brush dipped in nail polish remover to clean up any excess polish around the cuticles or skin. This will give you a neater finish.
Step 8:
Repeat steps 5 to 7 for each nail, working on one nail at a time to ensure the polish doesn't dry before you blend the colors.
Step 9:
Once your ombre effect is dry, apply a layer of top coat to seal and protect your design. The top coat will also give your nails a glossy finish.
Step 10:
If needed, do any additional cleanup around the cuticles or skin using a small brush or q-tip dipped in nail polish remover.
